FRESH APPLE WRAPS

Company is coming for dinner and you don’t have time to bake a fresh homemade apple pie… this quick and easy recipe for apple wraps is sure to please… and finish your evening on a sweet note. They will think you’ve been preparing all day!

Preheat oven to 350°

What you’ll need…
1 Package of Phyllo Pastry Sheets
Fresh McIntosh Apples, Peeled and Cored
1 - Teaspoon of Butter for Each Apple
1 - Teaspoon of Brown Sugar for Each Apple
Fresh Ginger, Grated
Ground Cinnamon
Ground Nutmeg
Ground Clove

Unroll pastry sheets on a flat surface. Place a prepared apple on sheet and fill the center with butter and brown sugar. Sprinkle with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Wrap the prepared apple with 3 pastry sheets and press the gathered sheets into the top of the apple slightly to create a “flower” on top. This will help to keep the pastry sheets in place while baking as well.
Place in a buttered baking pan and pop into the oven for about 50 minutes, until golden brown and apples are fully cooked.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Transfer to serving bowls and enjoy plain, topped with fresh whipped cream or with your favorite ice cream.

Enjoy!
